Uncheck Anchor Control which attaches an anchor point to an object when moving joystick (a ball will move closer)
Enable Hide Controller on Select = hands will disappear when holding an object

Fine-tuning Throwing a Ball
For the ball, under Sphere Collider, look at Material. You can choose a Material available in your project or create your own Physic Material. I picked PhysicsMaterial_Bounce_Low for a baseball
To prevent a dropped object from going through the floor, in Rigidbody component, for Collison Detection set to Continuous Dynamic
To get the ball to respond to force applied by your hand, set Movement Type to Kinematic
So the object (baseball( isn’t jittery, in the XR Grab Interactable component, enable Smooth Position and Smooth Rotation properties (you can adjust these settings with sliders)
