While my oldest child is happy that I am archiving all her favorite dishes, I have decided I need to have more than just recipes on this site.
In the spirit of this decision, this is my first non-food related post.
Since my teens, I have collected quotes. Here is one of my favorites from Frank Kafka:
“We are as forlorn as children lost in the woods. When you stand in front of me and look at me, what do you know of the griefs that are in me and what do I know of yours. And if I were to cast myself down before you and weep and tell you, what more would you know about me than you know about Hell when someone tells you it is hot and dreadful? For that reason alone we human beings ought to stand before one another as reverently, as reflectively, as lovingly, as we would before the entrance to Hell.”
So the section for the family cook book is coming along nicely. As weekly menus are planned, the accompanying recipes are being added. Our eldest daughter really wants to make sure that the recipe for Chinese egg rolls are added. We make them ever year to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
